Heidelberg: A very old and popular city. Heidelberg, along the banks of the Neckar River,  is famous for its castle that you see lit up in the picture above. Every so often they hold a fireworks display to commemorate the burning of the castle. This picturesque town is also home to the University of Heidelberg with its long and fabled history as a major institution going back to the days of Columbus. The name, Schenk, is very common here. You'll see a ice cream shop sign advertising the special Schenk cherry cake.
