Speyer: Speyer is a town less touched by all the commerce that is in Kaiserslautern. It has a rich religious history linked back to Luther and his departure from the orthodox Catholic beliefs. The Dom Cathedral (the church pictured) was central to the event and was Catholic in the early days. Speyer is a nice drive from Kaiserslautern. The town square is huge and now, as in the old days, still bustles with farmers markets and other bazaars at certain times of the week.
