Garmisch: This is the tourist mecca for Bavaria. It's a very picturesque area and a favorite ski resort town. Just over the hill, if you can see it through the clouds, is Austria. Those are the same clouds that brought the great floods you heard about on TV. We got out of there in search of sun and just in time.
Notice the painted wall on the top. Many of the buildings are decorated with paintings of various subjects. They really appreciate their artists there.
We stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Edelweiss which we all can heartily recommend and at good rates.
